Dr. Fonte is a nationally recognized interventional specialist in both coronary and peripheral vascular intervention. Dr. Fonte has led and participated in numerous training programs and workshops for interventional cardiologists, surgeons, and cardiovascular fellows, teaching both coronary and peripheral vascular intervention for the last 14 years.​

Dr. Fonte’s current position is Director of coronary and Peripheral Vascular Intervention at Sunrise Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Additionally, Dr. Fonte holds the title of Medical Director of Tutorials and Peripheral Vascular Disease, holding workshops at Sunrise Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dr. Fonte is the Director of Directional Coronary Atherectomy Center of Excellence at Desert Springs Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Dr. Fonte has participated in numerous clinical research trials; most recently he has been the Primary Investigator for the Nirvana Intracoronary Stent Trial sponsored by Boston Scientific Corporation and the Medinol Corporation. Additionally, Dr. Fonte has been the Primary Investigator for the Amigo DCA/Stent Trial Sponsored by Guidant Corporation. Dr. Fonte was the Primary Investigator for the Beta Radiation Stent Trial sponsored by the Novoste Corporation. Dr. Fonte was the Co-Investigator for the Cadillac Stent Trial sponsored by the Guidant Corporation. Dr. fonte is currently the Primary and Lead Investigator for the Avid Vascular Exceed Stent Trial Studying the post-market release of the Xience Stent.​

Dr. Fonte has given numerous lectures, both nationally and locally, on both coronary and peripheral vascular intervention.
